Elementary Division Academics
Pre-K to Fourth Grade
A Strong Start
From the start, Milton Hershey School gives children a strong foundation in both education and life. In pre-K through fourth grade, elementary students begin building the values, skills, and knowledge to lead them through life.
Education Program
While challenging, our learning program prepares students for the future. Everyone takes classes in math, reading, language arts, science, and social studies. Small classes give our youngest students the one-on-one attention they deserve. Students always have the support of their teachers and houseparents.
The full program includes:
- Passionate teachers with experience and advanced degrees
- Small class sizes of just 12 students per classroom
- Lessons that combine learning with technology
- Progress reports to review areas of strength and improvement
- Academic help, such as tutoring, when needed
Building Successful Futures
MHS teachers encourage students to be creative with hands-on projects that push them to succeed. Students work together in groups and build relationships beyond the classroom.

Learning doesn’t stop outside the classroom. Living with other students and houseparents in a student home builds teamwork and respect. Following a schedule and helping with chores builds responsibility and maturity.
